When should I avoid trading this rally?

Avoid new entries within 30 minutes of market open unless you have VWAP reclaim + volume confirmation, and stand aside during major macro prints or company earnings to prevent headline whipsaws.

How big should my stop be for daily swing trades?

Use 1.0–1.5× daily ATR(14) as a volatility-based stop, or place stop below the most recent structure pivot. Adjust position size so dollar risk equals 0.5–1.5% of your account.
